Today, 26th of July marks the 20th anniversary of victory of the Indian Armed Forces in Operation Vijay, that was won over the infiltrating Pakistani troops. This day is celebrated each year, to mark the glorious victory, to commemorate the lives that we lost, and to celebrate our heroes.
This day is celebrated with great vigor and celebration, by all military personnel at Draw Kargil sector, and at the capital of India, in Delhi. Amidst tense situations in the year 1999, there was a mutual agreement to solve the Kashmir issue with peace and harmony. However very soon, Pakistan sent in their troops who began to infiltrate the Nation’s borders. India responded with operation Vijay.
There was immediate mobilization of 2,00,000 troops, and this is a classic example of how two countries with nuclear power chose traditional warfare as the mode of war. The forces will pay their respect to the soldiers who laid their life for the country – President Kovind couldn’t make it because of bad weather.
Sanjeev Kapoor will be preparing his Tiranga Kheer, at the grand dinner that is to be organized. This dinner will serve 500 people, that includes families of martyrs and survivors.
