Here’s what happened with Zomato yesterday:

There has been a lot that has happened yesterday with Zomato – someone called Zomato and reported that he had been assigned a non-Hindu delivery executive. He requested a change in the rider and of course a refund. The user tried to share a lot of screenshots on social media too, trying to defend himself.

Zomato stood their case and didn’t change the delivery guy – they upheld the ideals of unified India. They went ahead and tweeted about it, with a lot of people encouraging them for their stance. UberEats also took to congratulating Zomato for their good ideals.

Then there was a sudden twist to it – some random person tweeted back to Zomato, that if food doesn’t have any religion, then why is Halal served?

To this, Zomato brought out a long letter. They wrote that they respect all religions and people’s choices of what they eat and what they don’t. They simply want people to make a better-informed choice, as aggregators, that is a part of their responsibility.

Some people even took it ahead to boycotting both the apps, while probably Swiggy is wondering whether to venture in or not. Honestly, Zomato has done a good job shutting up the trolls.
