Imran Khan has called a meeting with the National Security Committee and has decided to call off the diplomatic ties with India. Just two days later India pulls out special status of Kashmir, Pakistan announces that it will downgrade all diplomatic ties with India and will suspend all bilateral trade.
Pakistan Prime Minister conducted a meeting of the National Security Committee, that was attended by Qamar Javed Bajwa and some other senior officers. The following decisions have been taken:
- Suspension of bilateral trade
- Pakistan to go to UN, including the Security Council
- Downgrading Diplomatic interactions with India
- Review of all bilateral arrangements
- August 14th to be observed in solidarity with brave Kashmiris.
Pakistan has also called off their ambassadors from New Delhi, and it also means that India’s high commissioner Ajay Bisaria will also leave Islamabad. It is still not clear if the Wagah border will be closed down. Pakistan’s representative at the UN has already met up with the UN security Council to annul the move India has made.
Pakistan is leaning on China to put pressure on India – whereas China has already declared that the move is unacceptable because of unresolved border claims in Aksai Chin. Both foreign ministers will be soon discussing moves with China.
