Ranveer-Alia Starrer Gully Boy Chosen for India’s selection to Oscars.

A great news has come for Bollywood just now. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starter Gully Boy is India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards.It’s been a long time since a mainstream Bollywood movie has competed in this section since Lagaan  The movie is based on the life of Indian rappers Divine and Naezy. Indian entry Gully Boy will compete in the Best International Feature Film category, against all other nominations. Expectations are running high with its unique portrayal of the life of an upcoming Indian rapper and the situations he faces. 

People have especially appreciated Ranveer’s performance and the commendable 18-song soundtrack. Kalki and Alia’s performances have also been appreciated.  Indian audiences took to Twitter to comment on the selection. Most have presented congratulatory notices to both of the actors and the director for presenting such a fresh topic. The life of rappers in mainstream Bollywood is often overlooked, but this movie has definitely done it’s part.
